Gays and Guns and Roses...

And the story goes on...
Yesterday we had a good and funny lunch in Benidorm with my parents and other members of my family.
The same day as the Mayor was shot, I had dinner with my parents and I had spoken with my mother about the case. She was not as shocked as me, perhaps because she is older and wiser. She hadn´t even given the thing such an importance.

In the middle of the lunch the case came to mind again.
"By the way... do you know that the Mayor finally died?"
I asked her.
"Yes... and do you know why?"
"Well... There were some suspects at the beginning, a French couple and an English couple, all because of some property disputes around a new road...
"Nooooooo!.", corrected my mother, "the suspect French and English couples were not even there when it happened... no.... the Mayor´s wife, 5 years ago, after finding her husband in bed with a man, tried to commit suicide by throwing herself out of the window. She survived, but in a wheelchair, and they divorced. Now they say that it is only a story of jealous gays..."
I couldn´t believe my ears and almost choked on my food!
"How do YOU know that? from the TV?
"No... from Isabel..."
Isabel is my mother´s cleaning lady, an enormous 50 year old, local Spanish woman who always knows everything about everything.

As soon as I was home I made some research on the Internet and couldn´t find anything concerning Isabel´s theory. It seems that The Guardia Civil still hasnt´a clue what happened. But I wonder: if they had, would they say?

Now I don´t feel comfortable with my exhibition in memory of the Mayor, Not that i despise gays -I don´t care-, but a murder between jealous gays is surely not worth an exhibition of my work!

Anyway I don´t take any responsibility for the theory postulated in this entry!

Identity Rape

www.goodaboom.com

Art Studio, Tuesday 16th January 2007

„We published www.goodaboom.com on Christmas Eve, announcing it with the innocent arrogance of the youth as
„A New Star is born!“
We thought it could be a promising start and the name would last for thousands of years like the name of another famous guy born on the same date...
Of course we rapidly forwarded the website address to family, friends and clients and they visited the site with enthusiasm. But their numbers are limited, and certainly not enough to achieve our so timid aim: that Planet Goodaboom is spinning around everywhere on the Earth!

The time has come now to enter the SEO competiton. The ones amongst you who take their sites seriously know what I am speaking about:
„The Search Engine Optimisation“.

With Kevin not possessing precisely the kind of eagerness and patience necessary to enter the run, I got the job. On the advice of our webmaster I bought a big clever book promising me an unfair advantage on winning the search engine wars. But fair enough: the book is really fantastic, and I am theoretically learning the very interesting secrets of war, especially concerning keywords. Unfortunately the keywords I had in my mind for THE ENCHANTED ART are used by millions of people around the world, so these keys no longer open any doors! But I found a very promising, secret weapon:the blogs. They actually seem to be „the perfect formula for the ultimate highranking page in Google“
This of course is totally in our interest as our blogs have become- in a natural way as we both enjoy writing- the heart of Goodaboom. So I read how to harness the power of the blogs. Soon I found myself registering our diaries in lots of blog companies controlling millions of other blogs. At first I found the possibility of being connected to the whole blogging earth fascinating, but after a while, I noticed how I seemed to be losing my identity, my uniqueness, and little by little, to become an atom of the Whole, the Whole being a gigantic writing machine in which each atom is trying to win the ranking run. And anyway: I don´t really want my diaries entries to be read and commented upon by any other blogger in the world. They are private. They BELONG to the visitors of Goodaboom, and ONLY them.

So I took a decision: I definitely won´t send my diary to the ranking war! I prefer to trust in fate, which always served me well in life, hoping that it will now serve to help many people find Goodaboom. And If one day you can´t see Planet Goodaboom any more in the Cyberspace, you can be sure that we have won the war and just flied away from the big success!

A Waterproof Dog

www.goodaboom.com

Art Studio, Monday 25th december 2006

Not quite a lazy Christmas for me. I am spending my day trying to capture a black wild horse, which I got as a commission last Sunday in the Street Gallery. Blue sky, blue sea, black horse: A „Night mare“! I´ll tell you the story and show you the horse when I catch him... if I succeed!

In case you are doubting: no, it is not the black horse on the photo. The dog... well, yesterday afternoon we went to the beach, with the intention to hand out the Happy Christmas leaflets to announce the birth of The New Star Goodaboom. It was not quite the right day to do it, as the weather was awful, and nobody dared to venture their noses onto the promenade. At least there were cars there and we put a 120 leaflets on them... Good Luck, Goodaboom!

The sea was rough, high waves as never seen before here. I walked close to the seas´edge to take some photos. In the background I heard Kevin consumed with laughter because some of the waves were overtaking me. By the way I´m amazed that my camera survived the shock... never mind the dog! He was there with 2 men –no respite for dog owners, they had to venture their noses!-, continuously casting stones into the sea to amuse the dog. Considering the height of the waves, the young dog hesitated to run after the first stones, but eventually could not resist. He gathered his pace.... and ran full into a wave! Within a fraction of second he had disappeared completely into the boiling foam. We all stared at the point where the dog disappeared, anxiously waiting for a glimpse of black to appear again within the big white chaos.

After one minute –I may exagerrate a little bit, but it really seemed a long time!- a black spot appeared again. At first it didn´t move at all, quite waterlogged I guess! As he finally gathered his wits he attempted to leave the sea with dignity...
Later, as the man tried to repeat the fun, the dog started running but always stopped short at the last moment before he reached the waterline. A fantastic example of how quickly dogs can learn... at least when the lesson is hard enough!
Eventually our doggy even demonstrated a certain blasé attitude to the high waves, turning his back on them... but he never went back into the sea!
